Busy start to 2012

January 24, 2012 by anseaston

The start of 2012 has been the busiest ever for JARE ATP reports Founding Director Andrew N.S.Easton.

Andrew comments, “2011 was our busiest ever year in 22 years of trading where take-up of programmes and students doubled year-on-year and our busy mock-up cabin division saw a 4-fold increase in work.”

He continues, “With our new Boeing B737 Trainer Aircraft Centre at Bournemouth International Airport coming on stream with a range of programmes, interest for our services has been very positive indeed.”

JARE ATP provides a range of aviation programmes for both Direct students, for Air Cabin Crew and Airline Customer Service Agents as well as Aviation Practical Activity Days and sessions for Colleges and Schools for mainly Aviation, Travel, Tourism and Uniformed Public Services students.

Over 150 colleges and schools visited JARE ATP in 2011 and over 3,000 students took part in our training programmes – Andrew comments, “This uptake of our programmes confirms how important it is to choose an aviation provider with quality training Centres and experienced staff, we are the only independent aviation provider  in our sector with both a 22 year track record of success and two dedicated Aviation Centres with aircraft, aviation equipment and classrooms, so you can be assured of the highest standards of teaching, we are also ISO 9001:2008 accredited by LRQA.”

For those colleges and schools requiring aviation equipment, mock-up cabins, check-in areas and related equipment JARE ATP is the one-stop answer to cover these items, to date we have built over 65 mock-up cabins and supplied over 200 colleges and schools.

“Call us now for a free, impartial and without obligation appraisal of your needs to see how we can help you take part in one of our programmes, purchase of aviation equipment or mock-up building projects,” says Andrew, “Either myself of my colleague Julie will be delighted to help you in any way we can.”

LRQA Re-accredit JARE ATP for quality standards

December 9, 2011 by anseaston

Following a thorough inspection of JARE ATP’s quality management system and records LRQA, part of Lloyds Register re-accredited JARE ATP for a further three years.

The lead Auditor for LRQA Tony Shaw commented during their visit and inspection:

“The addition of the Boeing 737 trainer aircraft facility is an outstanding example of this company’s commitment to continual improvement. The training facilities continue to engage and enthuse a diverse variety of students who from their feedback obviously enjoy the range of facilities and aviation training provided. The business management processes remain impressively robust and are conducted in a diligent, committed and passionate manner. The management constantly take an enterprising and entrepreneurial approach to generate interest and broaden the customer base.”

Andrew Easton, Founder of JARE ATP, was delighted with this outcome and commented:-

“We are delighted that LRQA have been to recognise our hard work and effort in providing a stimulating environment for all our students and we continue to strive toward giving students the best possible start there is to gain an insight into Air Cabin Crew, Airline Customer Service Agent and Aviation work which leads towards sustainable employment.”

JARE ATP continues to welcome students from all over the UK, EU and worldwide to their Centres in Birmingham and Bournemouth International Airport to learn a range of aviation skills in a hands-on practical way using their wide range of aviation resources and has a busy session planned for 2012 and beyond.

Discovery Channel use JARE ATP facilities!

November 25, 2011 by anseaston

Whilst we always say we have the best aviation facilities to help students develop their aviation skills, this month this was further endorsed by a range of filming by WMR for the Discovery Channel in their Aircrash Confidential series.

This has involved a two day shoot at our Bournemouth International Airport Centre utilising the Boeing B737 interior for 6 different aircraft disasters using the type with accidents in different parts of the world.

Utilising over 40 extras and actors filming went without a hitch and also included the JARE ATP Directors taking small cameo parts as cabin crew for some of the scenes!

So successful was this shooting that WMR decided to use our Birmingham Centre facilities for their two night flights on smaller aircraft we have at our Birmingham Centre recreating both a DH DASH-8 and a BAe Jetstream 31 set of interiors to take place on 29.11.11.

We are very excited to see the outcome on the small screen and broadcast on the Discovery Channel is scheduled from February 2012 for a series of the Aircrash Confidential programmes to be aired over the following months.

All being well further shooting should take place in 2012 for further scenes in the Aircrash Confidential series at our Aviation facilities.

Uniformed Public Services

October 12, 2011 by anseaston

Our South Coast Centre has started taking bookings from Colleges and Schools teaching a range of Uniformed Public Services programmes.

Utilising our Boeing B737 Trainer aircraft we have put together a range of exciting options for students interested in joining the very varied ranks of Uniformed Public Services to give a practical hands-on experience.

The options currently include:-

1. Classroom preparation – at these sessions we would cover all the H&S and other “house-keeping” requirements and then ask the group (depending on size) to split up to form a range of groups for planning, coordinating and implementing the two CORE activities for the practical sessions – this would include:-

a. Forming teams and leaders

b. Allocating key roles and responsibilities

c. Preparation for the two practical activities of:-

i. Hi-Jack Aircraft

ii. Crash Landing

PowerPoint images of each part of the two emergencies will also be used to demonstrate the key roles and what will be involved to help develop student’s awareness of the procedures

2. Hi-jack – on the aircraft this will include preparation (in the above classroom activities) to include roles for students as follows:-

a. Crew roles i.e. Flight Deck and Cabin Crew

b. Hi-jackers

c. Passengers

3. Crash Landing – once again on the aircraft this will include preparation (in the above classroom activities) to include roles for students as follows:-

Scenarios including (we will use a range of Sound Effects/Lighting/Smoking of cabin etc., to add realism):-

i. Aircraft Emergency

ii. Aircraft Crash landing

iii. Medical Emergencies

In all of this it will include student roles for:-

a. Able Bodied Passengers – who will later evacuate via an overwing exit and rear emergency exit slide – under our direction

b. Casualties (passengers and crew) – students will have certain injuries to have attended to by other students

c. Cabin Crew – students playing these roles will have a range of duties including Passenger Address commands and instructions as well as physical scenarios to play

d. Flight Deck – similar to above

e. Emergency Services i.e. paramedics/fire – students will be able to role play a range of treatments for those injured passengers (this can be either known or unknown injuries [the latter to add realism to diagnosing injuries/treatment] – if required we can ADD professionals in these scenarios at a cost to cover the work involved

This is in essence the key parts of the sessions of emergency scenarios we can provide to meet a group’s learning needs for Uniformed Public Services students there are variations available required to consider other aspects as well.

Within the costings are a Completion Certificate, for each student, detailing the tasks which have been completed + a unique “Boeing B737 Aviation Experience” lapel badge for each student + up to 150 digital images of students completing their various tasks which we will burn to a CD and send on after the sessions at our Centre.

South Coast Centre – up and running!

September 28, 2011 by anseaston

We have just completed the installation of a range of options to the Boeing B737 Trainer including Special Effects, Realistic Simulation and Safety & Emergency Equipment at our South Coast Centre at Bournemouth International Airport.

The aircraft now boasts very realistic simulation for the following:-

  • Toilet Fire – within the rear toilet/washroom compartment, complete with lighting, smoking and sound effects
  • Galley Fire – within the forward galley in one of the ovens, complete with lighting, smoking and sound effects
  • Flight Deck – this incorporates a sound system recreating the Flight Deck “chat” including ATC “chat” and a PA system
  • Passenger Address system – to the front and rear cabin crew station areas
  • Smoke-filled Cabin smokers have been installed to the rear of the aircraft together with realistic Sound Effects of the fire and passengers trying to evacuate as well as a baby crying and waiting to be found
  • Decompression training – we have added misting of the cabin and sound effects to simulate a rapid decompression – drop down oxygen masks will also feature
  • Overwing exit – work is well advanced to complete the railing to the wing after leaving the aircraft and sound effects to simulate evacuation including removal of the overwing exit door, exit via the wing down the trailing edge to the tarmac
  • Cabin Doors – we have installed the emergency slide “bustles” in each forward passenger door so that cross checks and arming/disarming of doors can be completed as an essential drill; frequently referred to as “Doors to manual and doors to automatic” – for effective training we have installed a platform and steps to the front left hand passenger door to aid training and participation
  • Safety and Emergency Procedure Equipment – the aircraft is complete with all the safety and emergency equipment in situ in a range of the aircraft’s compartments so a full check of this important aspect can be completed
  • Emergency Slide – deployed from the rear left hand passenger door, we have also installed sound effects to re-create the drama of a passenger evacuation from the aircraft using the emergency slide

.  .  .  to name just a few of the exciting options we have installed.

So the Boeing B737 Trainer really is now fully operational and a range of colleges and schools have already made bookings to bring their students to our South Coast Centre to use this unique training aircraft.

To make a booking please call Julie Rushton: 01675 437375 or e-mail: jar@jare-atp.co.uk – the first 15 colleges/schools will also get a special price!
