In 2023-24 we received a record number of colleges, school learners using our Boeing B737 Aviation & Training Centre at Bournemouth International Airport where we have not only the B737 but a range of Airport and Aviation facilities. Bookings for the 2024-25 session are now open and they are proving just as popular as ever – we welcome old and new colleges and schools to our Centre.

Since we opened our Centre we have had 10’s of 1,000′s of learners using the facilities. All learners and tutors have commented on how the Centre has boosted their confidence and knowledge of aviation especially in a practical way including those who have previously been to airline owned facilities. Most of these options are based on matching the specific syllabus from a range of awarding bodies via our specially written support materials to then progress to a practical assessment.
REMEMBER that not even British Airways or Virgin Atlantic have a full aircraft for students to work on only mock-ups and sections!
If your NEET provision, college, school or university offers Air Cabin Crew, Airline Customer Service Agents, Aviation First Aid, Airline & Airport or Travel & Tourism programmes then you MUST make a visit to our Centre in 2024-25 – you will be giving your students a Field Trip of a lifetime which will significantly enhance their CORE programme and further develop their interpersonal and group skills as well as their own confidence in completing practical tasks. Most of these options are based on matching the specific syllabus from a range of awarding bodies via our specially written support materials to then progress to a practical assessment.
We can offer over 20 Airport Practical Activities including:-
- Check-in Passengers – using check-in computer system to produce boarding passes, baggage receipts and Flight Manifest
- Aviation Security – a complete a range of Passenger Security Checks – using HHMD, AMC
- “X-Ray” Passenger Baggage – checking for prohibited items
- Departure Lounge Duties inc: Passenger Address Announcements for a range of Passengers
- Boarding Gate Duties – inc: checking boarding passes and helping a range of Passengers
- Liaise with Cabin Crew and Flight Deck and help/escort a rangeof Special Needs Passengers
- Arrivals Procedures – meeting aircraft, escorting passengers etc.
- Passport Control – help passengers accordingly
- Customs Channels and Control – help passenger accordingly
- Deal with Passengers denied boarding and return to Landside
- Help passengers regarding lost baggage and completion of forms
These are just a few examples – we can offer many more and bespoke them to specific programmes, units and elements.
ALL our facilities use airport equipment, check-in equipment, HHMD and a range of communication equipment and include special Sound, Lighting and Special Effects to enhance the realism of each Activity; all our activities also have comprehensive external Risk Assessments completed on them as well as generic risk assessments, floor plans and dedicated fire escape routes for total safety.
The two Trustees in charge of operations are experienced former senior airline staff who are also First Aid, Fire Marshal and Health & Safety trained as well as qualified Cert. Ed. Adult Education Tutors, Airport Assessors and Verifiers so you can be sure that you are in the safest and most experienced hands possible. We are also qualified First Aid, CPR and AED Instructors and can provide training leading to recognised First Aid qualifications.
Completion Certificates are awarded on successful completion.
